The goal of Trench Safety Stand Down is to raise awareness of the dangers of, and to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries caused by trenching and excavation work. Resources that help employers utilize efficient safety practices are available from OSHA and this year's event sponsors, the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) and the North American Excavation Shoring Association (NAXSA).
