Working Safely with Silica Exposures

CPWR: Website Provides Easy Access to Tools and Info to Control the Dust

Last year, The Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) launched their Work Safely with Silica website. Designed as a one-stop source of information to help contractors identify and understand the health risks of silica hazards, the website offers access to research, news and updates on the latest regulatory efforts to control the dust.

The website features a "Create-A-Plan" tool to help users develop job-specifc plans for controlling silica exposures.

There is also a "Know the Hazard" section that includes information on why silica is hazardous, health risks involved, and actions contractors can take to reduce exposures.

The "Training & Other Resources" section provides users with silica-specific presentations, videos, handouts and training guides.

Lastly, the "What's Working" section highlights success stories and the challenges that contractors, workers, manufacturers, and researchers have experienced in the field on controlling silica dust.
